My name is Amanda Rahmanita, I am a 36 years old mother from Indonesia. In the past, I had been working as a fairly successful hotelier for about 9 years and now I have decided to be a housewife. Being a housewife and hotelier are my dream job; so currently I am proudly to say that I am an ex-hotelier who’s currently become a full time housewife without helper; I’m living my dream.. 🙂
It began while I was working as an hotelier in my hometown in Bandung, I was somehow started to have interest in the world of beauty; make ups to be very specific. Maybe that time the feminine side of me rose a little bit. Before that, I was not so into beauty products, too lazy for make-up. On daily basis when I worked, I only used loose powder and whatever type of cream underneath, blush on, eyeliner pencil and lipstick, that’s it. I simply washed my face with any face wash that is available at the supermarket, every morning and every end of the day. On my off day, I barely used anything except if I need to hang out once in a while and again the same cream, loose powder, blush on, eyeliner and lipstick, done.
One day, I thought that I need to buy a foundation first. I went to Google and YouTube, I searched for ‘best foundation for oily skin’. I thought I was oily skin type at that time, because my nose tends to get oily. Well, only now I know that not all oily noses means oily skin. Anyway, I want a drugstore foundation of course, in my mind as this is the first time, drugstore foundation would be enough. At that time, what’s viral was L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte, everybody raved about it. Without knowing that was not available in Indonesia at that point of time, I went to one of the shopping mall in Bandung to see L’oreal counter and I got it. Only later then I realized that what I had purchased was Infallible Fresh, not Pro Matte. It was a completely different foundation from what I wanted and the worst part of it was that I didn’t realize it until today; duh..
I also had issue with my skin. Do you know how bright the lightings in the shopping mall are? And there are nice mirrors in every counter or in the toilets. There I could see the problem on my face. I used to get shocked of my own blackheads and whiteheads; the loose powder that I had was certainly unable to cover those. That’s why I thought to buy the foundation at the first place, thinking that it could cover it; well not exactly. Another problem caught my attention whenever I was wearing my foundation. I saw dry patches around the edges of my mouth also on the forehead between my eye brows. The foundation cling to the dry patches and it was not cute at all. The dryness became more visible whenever I cleaned my face with my makeup remover. I thought it was the sign of aging; hhaha..
Therefore, again I went to Google and YouTube tried to figure out what happened with me. I experienced difficulties of findings products that you need and suitable for your skin and match for your likings. It was a lot, even too much information for a beginner like me to understand. I remember I got tired, confused and I ended up sick of it sometimes. The excitement that I felt, when I got a new product that I thought would work for me was overwhelming. However, then you got disappointed cause turned out it was not as expected. It was wasting money, energy and time.
I felt the struggles of searching information here and there. My head full of information that I was dying to share; I need someone to talk to. That’s what inspired me to make this blog. Here, I will write my experience regarding whatever that I come a crossed; Beauty, Health, Hotel, Tourism, Food and Beverage, Gym, Books, Movies or anything. I want to express my thought, my opinion and my feelings about my experience. I will give you information as much as I can, who knows it can help a small amount of people who’s having the same problem with me, someone who’s novice like me, who’s just about to start something and need some information, to be enlighten a little bit. Maybe we can exchange our stories and experience here? I used to write a diary when I was a little and always feel better after writing. So I want this blog to be like a diary of mine, it will be like talking to a friend. I am not a professional writer, but I promise I will learn and improved. I will mix Bahasa Indonesia and English sometimes, somehow that’s how I used to speak in real life.
I am not an expert in anything that you may found in this blog. I’m a woman whom I may say just started to live and enjoying my life, and I would love to share my story with you all. I will take you time to time and I hope you are willing to be in this journey with me.
